Az olasz kortárs irodalom egyik jellegzetes hangja novemberben a PesText vendége lesz! 

Silvia Avallone olasz költő és író 1984-ben született Biellában. A Bolognai Egyetem filozófia szakán doktorált. Acél című első regénye 2010-ben jelent meg, a Strega-díj zsűritagjaitól a második legtöbb szavazatot kapta; Stefano Mordini rendezésében film is készült belőle. Az Egy barátság története 2021-ben Benedetto Croce-díjban részesült, számos nyelvre fordították le. A Fekete szív megjelenésének évében Elsa Morante- és Viareggio-díjat kapott. A Corriere della Sera, a La Lettura és a 7 lapok állandó szerzője. Silvia Avallone családjával Bolognában él. Könyveit 27 nyelvre fordították le.

Avallone regényei – Acél, Egy barátság története, Fekete szív – iparnegyedekben, kisvárosokban és javítóintézetben játszódnak. Hősei hátrányos helyzetű, elvágyódó, megbélyegzett fiatal nők, akik történeteit az író erővel és szenvedéllyel ábrázolja.

 Silvia Avallone érzékenyen és bátran mutatja meg a társadalmi feszültségeket. Írásaiban ott van a kiábrándult generáció útkeresése és lázadása: identitás, női szerepek, társadalmi egyenlőtlenség, fiatalkori bűnözés, kilátástalanság – mindaz, amiről égetően fontos beszélni.

Művei nemcsak megrázóak, hanem inspirálóak is. Avallone hangja friss, bátor és provokatívan őszinte.

Silvia Avallone in Budapest! 

One of the most powerful voices of contemporary Italian literature will be our guest at PesText this November! 

Silvia Avallone, Italian poet and novelist, was born in 1984 in Biella. She holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of Bologna. Her debut novel Steel (2010) received the second-highest number of votes from the Strega Prize jury and was later adapted into a film directed by Stefano Mordini. Her novel A Friendship (2021) won the Benedetto Croce Prize and has been translated into numerous languages. With the publication of Black Heart, she received both the Elsa Morante and the Viareggio prizes in the same year. Avallone is a regular contributor to Corriere della Sera, La Lettura and Sette. She lives in Bologna with her family, and her books have been translated into 27 languages.

Avallone’s novels – Steel, A Friendship, Black Heart – are often set in industrial suburbs, small towns, or youth detention centers. Her protagonists are marginalized, yearning, stigmatized young women whose stories unfold with unflinching force and elemental passion.

 With sensitivity and courage, Silvia Avallone reveals the less sunlit side of society. Her writing channels the disillusionment, search, and rebellion of a whole generation: identity, women’s roles, social inequality, juvenile delinquency, hopelessness – everything that urgently needs to be talked about.

Her works do not only move readers but also provoke action and reflection. Avallone’s voice is fresh, bold, and provocatively honest – exactly the kind of voice world literature needs today.
